Intern opportunities

Herban Farmacy offers seasonal internships lasting from 1 month up to 1 year.

Currently seeking weekly interns to work on the farm and in the apothecary (June-October)

WEEKLY INTERNSHIP

What you will gain:
*Learn an array of skills around growing, wildcrafting, tending and caring for medicinal herbs
*Gain experience with running a small apothecary
*Become familiar with identifying many medicinal herbs
*Have access to many herbs to process and explore on your own and for your own medicine
*Spend time outside on a beautiful farm and property of 300 acres
*Educational opportunities to learn more about herbs, herbalism, wildcrafting, botany and more
*The longer your comittment the more learning opportunities you will have

What we expect:
*Minimum of 1 month commitment.  (1 day/week for 4 weeks)—-if you would like to come to periodically work on the farm, we do also have work days.  Please contact info@herbanfarmacy.org if you are interested in coming to work and play for a day.  IMG_0861
*$100 to hold your space.  $50 of which will be returned once agreed upon expectation has been met. This helps to honor our agreement and honor my time and the energy I have set aside to help create a learning opportunity for you.  This is a very small amount of compensation to symbolize the value (which is priceless) in the skills and opportunities you will receive.
*Timely arrival.  Work days will be from 10-5 with 1 hour for lunch and 2 breaks.

Currently seeking a live in intern to work on the farm, work in the apothecary and help to put on a yome.  -THIS POSITION IS FILLED FOR 2016

LIVE IN INTERNSHIP

What you will gain:
*Learn how to identify, grow, harvest and process a wide array of medicinal herbs
*Wildcrafting/Foraging
*Learn how to make tinctures, tea, salve, honey, vinegars and other herbal preparation
*Gain apothecary experience and knowledge
*Teaching opportunities
*Experience writing materia medica, clinical evaluations and botanical/herbal research
*Explore herbs in your own health and life
*Have the opportunity to participate in herbal courses and plant walks
*Spend a lot of time outside
*Have access to a wide range of botanical, medicinal and permaculture books and resources
*Have access to 300 acres of trails and beautiful herbal gardens
*Live in their own space with shared kitchen and bathroom  (electric and internet provided)
*Have access to much of the food and herbs growing on the property and found through wildcrafting

What we expect: 
*This is a 3 months commitment, with a 2 week trial period.  Position could be extended into the fall or year round.
*Interns are expected to work 30 hours a week
*Clear communication is a must.  Weekly checkins will be offered to help support ease and guarantee that both of our needs and expectations are being met.
